Reasons to be Cheerful

Reasons to be Cheerful at Mummy from the Heart

Turn that frown, upside down!

I think, in general, I am quite a cheerful person (as long as I keep taking the pills!). I have been making a real effort to be more positive in the things I do. I have been trying not to react, or rather over react, to the boys when they are up to no good. They do test my patience regularly and although I may feel like flinging them through the nearest window, I have been reasoning and distracting them which has been working quite well. When they respond to these things it helps to keep me relaxed too.

The sun was out today. I almost complained when I pulled back the curtains to a full power beam in the eyes. Then I looked round our rather soggy, miserable garden and it was instantly transformed. The plants seemed to stretch visibly towards the warmth, knowing full well Spring is on its way. I can't wait to see the little flowers coming out and our bright orange poppies that grow along the fence line. I'm hoping to dash out there before the eager Dandylions fling their pretty little seeds everywhere, otherwise we shall be over run with them again this year.

For me, knowing that Spring is coming and we can get outside again without freezing or getting drenched fills me with utter joy. I love the outdoors and could live in the garden in the summer. Feeling the sun on my shoulders as I potter about in the garden is simply the BEST feeling ever.

Have yourselves a gloriously, cheerful week xx
