#BEDA Day 13 - Where We Live

Today's post is all about where I live. Personally, I think it is a very unspectacular place to live but it does have some advantages. We moved here in January from a big house in a village (unfortunately a few weeks before we found out about our new addition!).  We came here because Big goes to school here and the littles went to a nursery here too. My husband was due to start his new job and I would be a lot less isolated. It also meant less traveling time in the car to get anywhere, which is a huge bonus!!

It is the county town of Wiltshire and has pretty much everything here you could ask for really. Shopping wise there is a range from cheaper places to the more expensive. From Poundland and Wilkinsons to Next and Monsoon, there is something to suit all budgets. This is also great as there are little tucked away shops full of unusual treasures and trinkets.

Recently, an old factory has been knocked down and the new development includes an Odeon cinema, a Premier Inn and several yummy places to eat like Frankie and Bennys. It is also really close to our house, so close that the blue lights of the Odeon can be seen from our bedroom window at night! As I am usually the driver, this is like heaven for me!

There is a big park in the middle of town which holds concerts and parties for kids in the summer. Every Wednesday over the summer Active Kids are there during the day offering free sports activities for Children. We walked through the park the other week and they had a bouncy assault course and another group were playing with a parachute. It looked like fun but the boys were worn out so we didn't stay.

We are quite lucky to have all these things only a five minute walk from our door. We also have Tesco (24 hours), the library (which is pretty big), the Drs and the bridge to the park and town within a few minutes walk.
Bigs school is also within walking distance and he is so much happier having all his mates living so close now too. He's hardly at home!

  2. I wish our Tesco was 24 hours ... not that I've ever needed to go in the middle of the night, it'd just be nice to have the option ;D
