The Jingly, Jangly Jungle Party

As some of you may have been aware, it was my little mans birthday on Sunday and he was 2. I know, crazy isn't it? Two years ago I was in the worst agony of my life, for a whole day with no pain relief (in hospital!). I'd love to say it's been plain sailing since, but it hasn't. Not by a long shot!

Chaos is one of those kids who has just about everything happen to him. He had reflux as a baby that wasn't diagnosed until he was a year old (when he had pretty much grown out of it), he has been to hospital with jaundice, a bleeding eye, various lumps and bumps, rashes and high temperatures. He nearly cut his tongue off on a broom handle, has fallen down the stairs twice, has walked into tables, door frames, chairs and cupboards. He has pulled a bookcase on top of him, cut his head on the tv unit, cut his finger on a door hinge and put his tooth through his lip a couple of times. God love him, he's a walking disaster, well running disaster! On the other hand, he is the most affectionate and caring little boy you could ever hope to meet. He always asks "What's the matter" if he sees you're not happy. He gives you a hug if you're crying and gets you a tissue. He pulls funny faces to make you smile and generally lights up your day just by being in it. There is never a dull moment with Chaos about!!

So, I decided to decorate the place a bit. It hasn't been decorated since we moved in so it still looks a mess and very drab. I set to work with a roll of lining paper and some kids paints, with surprising results!

We had just put the last of the decorations up when our first guests arrived, perfect timing! We had a lovely afternoon and Chaos had great fun with his cousin, who is also tractor mad. He now had two musical tractors with animals in a trailer and a John Deere with a bale trailer and 15 bales. He is in tractor heaven! It has also stopped the little fights between him and Squish as they can play with a tractor each now.

As you can see, he was surrounded by paper and legs! He was opening a CAT dumper truck which is used for pushing all sorts from one room to another. He had some lovely story books, including Wibbly Pig and Bob the Builder. He entertained everyone beautifully and had a great day. He even sang Happy Birthday with us before blowing his candles out. What a star! Happy Birthday my Chaotic Gorgeous George xxx
