My Digital Postcard From Ghana

GoodWork

I so admire these fabulous ladies (I am also a little envious if I'm honest!). They are working their arses off to bring us more information about the projects being supported by Comic Relief. I have no doubt that it will be a life changing trip for them. They will see things that will pull at their hearts like never before. They will also feel the immense pride that the people of Africa have. They may have very little but they appreciate everything that is done to help them. They don't want charity. They want the chance to support themselves and with all the #GoodWork, that is exactly what they are doing.

There was no way I could pass up the opportunity to have my very own digital postcard sent from Ghana to display on my blog. The ladies visited a bakery today. The same one that was featured on the Great British Bake Off. My postcard comes from there. Here it is complete with my message underneath.

Hello Kat!
In this photo Veronica is cutting up the bread before it get passed on to another woman to be shaped and then finally passed on to another woman who pops it in the baking tin and in to the massive oven! You should have seen the size of the knife!

This is a digital postcard sent from TeamHonk (www.mammasaurus.co.uk; www.aresidence.co.uk; www.mummybarrow.com ) during their travels with Comic Relief in Ghana celebrating #goodwork.
For the past 25 years the money raised through Red Nose Day has been changing the lives of the poorest and most disadvantaged people in the UK and Africa. Let’s Keep Up the Good Work. Find out how at rednoseday.com
For other digital postcards please do check out the linky on www.teamhonk.org

Red Nose Day has collected £600,000,000 over the last 25 years. Let me type that, Six Hundred Million Pounds has been raised since the first Red Nose Day in 1988. How flippin' amazing is that?! Makes you proud to be British (for once!)

With that money Comic Relief have helped:

• 3 million people affected by HIV in Africa

• Provide 1 million vaccines in Africa and the world’s poorest countries

• At least 7 million people living in urban poverty in slums in Africa and the world’s poorest countries

• Assist over 1 million children in Africa and the world’s poorest countries to get an education

• Prevent or cure blindness for more than 2.4 million people in Africa and the world’s poorest countries

Dinoroar• 10 million people across the UK

If you have donated any of that money you should feel immensely proud as you have been a part of those life saving changes. If you have yet to donate, please make this your chance to help. There are so many people that just need a helping hand for them prosper. There are small businesses being set up as a direct result of the resources received. Children have been given life saving vaccinations or medication. Illnesses caused by poor sanitation or starvation, both of which are preventable with our help. Children are also being educated so they don't have to go out working at a young age. They can study for a career that will help them make the best of themselves and their community.

Just £30 can vaccinate 6 children against deadly diseases like Whooping Cough and Hepatitis B.
If you would like to donate, this link will take you to the Red Nose Day Donation page.
Please give what ever you can and help save a life.
THANK YOU!
