15 May Blog Challenge

A Timeline of my Day

This is a list of the main things that happen here and what time they occur. I haven't added all the changeable details as I do them whenever I get the chance, like filling the washing machine while Chaos is engrossed in a book or I do the washing up in several stages. It's almost like a race, how much can I get done in this unspecified amount of time before he comes to find me?! Most of the time I'm lucky to make a cup of tea let alone go to the loo alone or other such luxuries!

05.50   Squish pants wakes me up chatting and giggling to himself.
06.00   We try to sneak downstairs without waking anyone else up.....
06.02   FAILED - Chaos heard the stairs creak and started shouting his head off!
06.15   The three of us are watching Waybaloo with our morning drinks. Milk for Squish, warm juice for Chaos and STRONG tea for me!
07.00   The others get up and start getting ready for school/work
07.30   Breakfast - this can be quite a long affair depending on how hungry Chaos is. Sometimes it can last an hour and a half. Other times he wont touch anything and cries to get down almost straight away.
08.10   The Big One and my husband leave for the day. I try to stay out of the kitchen while they get breakfast and lunches ready as there just isn't enough room for everyone to wander about in a daze!
9-10.00   More milk for Squish before his morning nap. If Chaos is tired he has a bottle and snack now too in the hope that he will have a sleep as well!

Squish sleeps for 2 hours on the dot from when he falls asleep and Chaos has a bit longer so if they both have a sleep together, not only is it a miracle it also means ME TIME! I usually blog and do a bit of housework so I don't feel guilty for blogging while the house is a bomb site!
If Chaos doesn't sleep until later we either go out in the garden or play with his toys downstairs

11-12.00   More milk for Squish
12-13.00   Lunch for Chaos
14.15   Get ready to pick up the Big One
14.30   Leave to get the Big One
15.30   Get home and another bottle for Squish and snack for Chaos then play with toys or go in the garden
16.30   Get dinner on ready for 17.00 (ish!)
16.45   Husband returns to the homestead
17.15   Dinnertime
18.00   Bath time for Squish and Chaos
19.00   Bedtime for Babies!!
19.02   All who are still up breath large sigh of relief and relax
19.05   Chaos starts crying - Mummy pads upstairs for another round of "Daisy, Daisy" to settle him
19.10   Mummy digs out bottle of Savanna from back of fridge to guzzle or a bag of medicinal Jellies!
21.00   Bed time for Big One

** THE WATERSHED**

The evening is ours at last. Usually we are both too shattered to converse much and collapse in a heap somewhere. My husband may do some filming on the pc while I play the PS3. We might watch a film or something we have recorded. We have been out in the garden the last few nights as it has been nice warm.
Bed time is something we are working on. Our aim is to go to bed the same day that we get up! Hopefully, we will get it down to 22.00 one day.

It doesn't sound like I spend much time with the kids, reading back through this. I do but it might be reading to Chaos while I feed Squish or playing with one while the other sleeps. I love having a bit of me time if they are both asleep (like now!) but it is great to have one to one time with them if they sleep at different times. It does make for a very long day though, as there aren't any breaks from them until they go to bed.

We do go out... occasionally. In the garden, to playgroups, out for lunch or just for a walk. I really need to do more of this as Chaos needs to socialise with other children more. Poor lamb, I expect half his problem is he's bored! Playgroup today it is then! :)
