Our Christmas Tree

I was just looking through my posts so far and realised I haven't put up a picture of our finished Christmas Tree. I think it was such a creative, space saving, enjoyable craft that we may just make another one next year too!

From a humble outline on lining paper...

We created a very festive, sparkly masterpiece...

I found some Christmassy shapes we could decorate the tree with. I was impressed that the boys managed to keep the glue on the paper or in the pot.

I found some little Father Christmas chocolates so with a bit of rolled up tape, managed to stick them on the tree. Baby boy didn't like the idea of having chocolate on there to begin with which I found quite amusing. He soon became guardian of the choccys though.

I think they did a great job. I had to encourage them to spread the shapes out as they started off putting them all in one place. Once they finished, I stuck the tinsel on with some rolled up sellotape.

Next was to put the stars up. I found some packets of sparkly sticky foam in Tesco. Using different sized cookie cutters for an outline, I cut out lots of stars to decorate the wall around the tree.

I found a few other pretty, sparkly things to put on the tree with help from my in laws and loved the end result.

With a few decorations on the ceiling and twinkling lights dotted about, the room soon looked quite festive. This is the sight we came down to on Christmas morning. Apart from two stockings falling down, I think it looked quite amazing and was proud of our first homemade tree!
