Reasons To Be Cheerful

Ojos World

I am joining in with this positive linky hosted by the very lovely Jo from Ojos World. This helps me to focus on the positive things tbat happen each week.  Sometimes this is really easy but other weeks it seems almost imposible and I really struggle with it.

This last week has been a mixed bag. I can think of lovely things that have happened in amongst the tough times. The kids are all suffering with an awful cough and cold, especially the little ones. Sleep has been elusive for the past few nights which has been a killer! The good things have shone through.

Sunday I went to Clarkes Village with my eldest. I rarely get the chance to spend time with him so it was a treat for me. Although we wete meant to be Christmas shopping we only bought stuff for us! We made the most of Black Friday weekend and bagged a few designer bargains. The littles had a GAP hoody, baby girl had a GAP sleeping bag to use in the buggy and carseat. I got a BENCH jacket and trackies while my eldest had a pair of BKs and some Levi's. We wont be getting much else for Christmas this year.

Baby boy turned 3 on Monday. I was going to take them out in the morning but they wete so tired it wasn't worth the trouble as they wouldn't have enjoyed it. They had a sleep after lunch so I got things ready and had a tidy up before the family got here for cake. He had a lovely afternoon and thanked everyone for coming. Middle boy was most put out nothing was for him and kept trying to open the presents. He helped give out the cake so was happy having an important job to do!

I have been going to bed earlier this week rather than trying to fight it to get housework done. The house is a mess but I am starting to feel better. The first few days of catching up are awful and I've felt pretty rotten but I'm coming out the other side now. Next job is to sort out our mealtimes...

The boys behaviour is still at a manageable level so I'm sure once they are over this cold it will continue to improve. This is a massive relief as the last few months have been really tough and probably the hardest yet. Ever.

To round off my cheerful things, I had a very lovely catch up with someone I haven't seen for a while but will hopefully see much more often. Although I hope next time will be calmer so we don't have to hide out in the kitchen!

I hope you have found positive things to keep you smiling this week too.

  3. Quality time with one child is always special and I like the sound of the designer buys. Nice to treat yourselves once in a while - good for the soul. Birthday sounds lovely and mine are like that always thinking they should all be treated on anyone's birthday. Used to give in to it but no longer. We do what we can and you can bet if you have to leave the housework it will be waiting for you when you are ready for it. Take care of you
