Why am I cheerful this week? The SUN IS OUT!!!
The first thing that springs to mind right now are the boys are both asleep giving me some very rare me time - WOOP!! Tea for this lady please...
The summer holidays have felt quite endless at times which I am sad to say. The boys have been niggling at each other, trying out their new manly hormones along with my fast failing patience! I am quite relieved that Big has now gone back to school and he seems quite happy to be back too so that's a relief.
I have finally got round to sorting out the front garden. It has been dug over and raked level-ish. My husband bought home some turf last night. We ended up laying it in the dark thanks to the boys not wanting to sleep, again. It doesn't look too bad this morning although we do need another two strips to finish it off. I am going to jump about on it later to flatten out the ground a bit more so it is easier to mow. Once that's all finished I can start putting some pretty plants in the flower bed along the wall. So excited to be able to have pretty things in such a blokey house!
I also bought the boys a sand pit yesterday and Chaos LOVES it! Nothing fills me with more joy than watching him play in the garden. He can't get enough of it and has to be dragged in come rain or shine! He wanted to go out there in his nappy before breakfast this morning!
Hopefully we should be able to start buying the wood to build the play house in the next few weeks. It will be great for them to have their own little patch of the garden.
My husband only has One more week at work before he leaves. It will be great to have him home more often and we might get to spend a bit more time together. I am also excited at the thought of getting a job for myself. I am a little nervous if I'm honest. It's been a long time since I worked, let alone worked for someone else! I think we need a regular income rather than the unreliability of self employment at the moment. I might do a few therapies along the way though, if the opportunity arises.
There are some of my reasons for this week. I hope you have a huge list to join up with too! Have a sun and fun filled week xx
Your sand pit sounds fab, my two love the outdoors too, which is fine for me as I can work on the tan! I hope your garden looks beautiful soon for you :)

Wow returning to work is a big deal and very exciting. I hope you have a good experience.
ReplyDeleteIts great to have a garden for kids. My son gets so antsy when he's not taken our doors regularly and I totally understand I feel the same way too but due to bump I feel tired and I can't keep up with when he breaks into a run, lol.
I can imagine how you must feel having hubby home more. I know how I'd feel. Day time cuddles are lovely.
Good luck on the job front, what an exciting new challenge for you.
ReplyDeleteThe sunshine never fails to make me feel happier :) x
